Choir
Congratulations to the Boat Harbour Senior Choir on their performance at the Wynyard High School Arts Event. Students represented our school and themselves in an excellent manner, with Ms Ellis sharing that not only did they look beautiful, they sounded beautiful. Well done for being committed to practicing, showcasing your talent, trying your best and for performing at such an impressive level.
Athletics
From our school athletics carnival a team of Grade 3 – 6 students were selected to represent Boat Harbour Primary School at the North West Athletics carnival. Students competed in sprints, long distance running and field events. The determination and willingness of students to try new things was a highlight, with some excellent results rewarded to students with invitations to the twilight carnival for the athletics finals. A special congratulations to William Elphinstone on coming 3rd in the Grade 5 75m, and to Harry Gatenby for finishing 3rd in the 200m, 2nd in the 800m and 1st in the 1500m. Well done to all students for giving their best effort.

End of Term
It is crazy to look back at how quickly this Term has gone! I wish everyone a safe and restful school holiday break and I am looking forward to a busy and rewarding Term 4.
Students enjoyed coming dressed in their favourite footy colours last Friday. A traditional football lunch was served at the canteen with pies, savs and sausage rolls on on the menu. Thank you to everyone who supported the SRC's stall at recess.
In Science in 2/3W we have been learning about the different types of forces. We completed an investigation looking at paper helicopters and how we can make them stay in the air for the longest amount of time. We tried changing their size, wing length and shape, and the weight of the tail. After changing some variables, we conducted some fair tests to see how long they stayed in the air. We then wrote a discussion explaining our results and represented them on a graph. In this investigation the forces of gravity and air resistance were in play. The air resistance on each propellor caused the helicopter to spin, and gravity is what causes it to fall through the air. We had lots of fun making and testing our helicopters!
3/4 M Have been learning about Civics and Citizenship.
Last week the class worked in groups and explored the difference between laws and rules.
On Sunday, 25th September, Harry, Aiden, Ayla and Charlotte competed against 19 other teams in the Mathematical Association of Tasmania's North-West Maths Relay. They demonstrated exceptional teamwork, resilience and communication skills throughout the event and achieved an outstanding result of equal-first place!
Congratulations!
