Student Collection Point
Students that are collected at the end of the school day will continue to be picked up from the Japanese Garden area near Minimbah and the new Prep building. To assist us in being accountable for every student and ensuring their safe departure from school, parents (or whoever collects the student) will begin signing for students as they are collected. This will provide us with clarity around how students have left school in case there are any issues with children being collected.
Parents & Friends Fundraising Committee
The students at Boat Harbour Primary School have been extremely fortunate for many years to be supported by a wonderful team of volunteers that fundraise to provide opportunities and resources for our students. To assist the fundraising committee moving forward, nominations for Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and Secretary are being called. Nomination forms can be collected from the school office and will need to be returned by Friday 13th March.
This committee is eager for as many people as possible to be involved in a variety of different and creative fundraising events. Even if you can’t attend all meetings they would love for you to still be involved in any way that you can. A new Facebook page has been created that is open to everyone to help with communication, so please feel welcome to connect with the page and share fundraising thoughts and to assist with organising. 2020 is set to be an enjoyable year, we look forward to you being involved, having fun while raising some valuable funds for every student at Boat Harbour Primary School.

Class meetings will be held in week 6, Wednesday 11th March. This will be an opportunity for parents to meet as a group with their class teacher to hear and see a variety of things about their child’s new class. Things that will be covered include Schoolzine, Seesaw, communication, expectations, routines, and plans for the year. Behaviour expectations will be discussed, ensuring parents are fully aware of the expectations for acceptable classroom behaviour at Boat Harbour Primary School. The BHPS School Association AGM will be held on Tuesday 24th March 2020. Members of the School Association are nominated and hold their position for two years. Each year the two year cycle finishes for some members, creating vacant positions to be filled.
This year there are three parent member positions and three staff positions left vacant. You must be nominated to fill one of these positions.
Nomination form for parent members is attached, or a paper copy can be collected from the School Office. They are to be returned to the school office by 3.00pm on Friday 13th March, 2020.
Being a member of the School Association is an excellent way to contribute to the administrative functions and accountabilities of our school. If you would like further information about the Association please contact one of the members to ask any questions.
The SRC Executives, House Leaders and Library Monitors, along with Grade 5 students, attended the GRIP Student Leadership Conference on Wednesday, 19th February.
We enjoyed participating in the activities, learning about leadership goals and how we can make improvements to our school. The main message of the day was Generosity and how this is important to encourage other students to help those in need. We talked about the importance of giving without expecting anything in return. This helped us to reflect on our own leadership goals and taught us ways to develop our skills more.
We all got a lot out of the conference - we enjoyed meeting students from different schools and developing our cooperation skills and working together with others.
Thank you Mrs Eiszele and Mr Groenewege who attended the conference with us.

Late Arrival - Early Departure
Students arriving at school after 9.00am MUST be signed in at the school office, otherwise they will be marked as an unauthorised absence for the day. If students are picked up early they must also be signed out at the office. This will assist bus teachers at the end of the day.
Unfortunately we will be postponing Story and Rhyme Time sessions in the library on Friday afternoons until second term.
Parents are welcome to place orders for uniforms on the Qkr! app, or by completing the uniform order form as attached and returning to the office.
Kelly Shackleton, Uniform Co-ordinator, is in each Thursday morning between 8.45am - 9.15am to assist parents with their uniform requirements, and to fill uniform orders. Orders that have been paid for will be sent home with students.
