Principal's Report
Assembly
It has been lovely to welcome parents back into school, helping to celebrate learning and student achievements! It was fantastic to be able to have assemblies again yesterday, thank you to those parents and families that were able to join us, it was so good to see students shine while sharing their learning with you. Assemblies always highlight the breadth of learning being accessed across our school, ranging from our choirs to STEM challenges, poems, Brixibition, writing, artwork, netball and football reports – it is wonderful to see first hand students enjoying their learning.
Congratulations Steven Dobson and Shanyssa Faber from Wynyard high school who both spoke in our Primary assembly. Both Steven and Shanyssa are past Boat Harbour Primary School students and are now Grade 10 co-captains at Wynyard High School. They spoke about the positive journey they have had a Wynyard High School and the opportunities this has presented them. They represented themselves and their school in an outstanding manner and I congratulate them for continuing to be excellent role models.
Congratulations to those students that received certificates for showcasing our school and Department values: Respect, Growth, Aspiration and Courage. We know that if these values can be engrained in each of our students that they are highly likely to enjoy happy, successful lives.
Goodluck!
Mrs Anita Groenewege is moving to Burnie Primary School in Term 3 after spending nearly two years working with us in the school front office. Thank you Anita for always being helpful and organised in this space, it is often busy but your calm and positive manner has always been valued. We wish you all the best in the future!
Holidays
School holidays are here once again. I hope that you are all able to spend some quality time as families and for students to rest in preparation for Term 3. Attendance will be a focus next term, with COVID being quite disruptive for many students during the year. Attendance at school and continuity of learning is essential to your child’s growth, please communicate with me or your child’s teacher if attendance is an issue for any reason. Students are required to attend school by law and it is the school’s responsibility to communicate attendance with you.
Staff at Boat Harbour Primary School wish you all a safe and enjoyable holiday break and look forward to seeing you all back in Term 3.
