Principal's Report
Term 2
Welcome back to Term 2, what a wonderful start to term we have had. I have been impressed with the way students have settled straight back into learning in a seamless manner, applying themselves in a manner that fosters learning. We have been spoilt with warm weather until now, however we are fully aware that winter is around the corner. Please ensure that your child is prepared for the imminent cold weather – we are ready for the red mud to again bless us with its presence.
We hope that over the coming months we are able to hold assemblies again and share achievements and learning with our school community on site. Until then, please continue to observe COVID protocols at school, if your child is unwell or exhibiting COVID symptoms please keep them home until they are well even if testing negative. Thank you for helping keep our school and broader community safe.
School Association
Our School Association recently scheduled its AGM. The Association is eager to have as many new members as possible and felt postponing the AGM would allow more people to be present and involved. So if you are interested in contributing to your school by being a member of the Association we invite you to come to the AGM and learn more about the functions of the Association. As an Association member you will contribute to school wide policies and administrative functions of the school. There are opportunities to discuss a broad range of school wide topics in a supportive, caring environment. All positions will be open for nomination, including President, Vice-president, Treasurer and Secretary. We hope to welcome as many new members as possible at our meeting on Tuesday 7th June.
Launching into Learning (LiL) – Little Learners
It is fantastic to have Little Learners back and face-to-face at school! Supporting our youngest members of the school community is a priority at Boat Harbour Primary School. Regulations have capped participants at 25 people per session (including adults and children) and for sessions to go no longer than 1 hour. As a result we are offering TWO Little Learners sessions each Friday, one from 9:00am until 10:00am and the other from 10:00am until 11:00am. Please call the front office on 6445 1187 to book your spot.
