This term in Music, grade 1-2 students have been focusing on rhythm and beat through movement, playing percussion instruments and singing songs.

We read the story, Chick Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin and John Archambault and worked out the rhythm for many of the phrases in the book. We then made our own little Chicka Chicka Boom Boom book. Students have also been reviewing the solfege signs (do re mi fa so la ti do) and using these to learn the song Do Re Mi.
