5-6N and 5-6G have been working on a class novel together. “Hatchet” is a story about a young boy, Brian, who is the sole survivor of a plane crash. Throughout the novel, Brian learns as much about himself as he does the tricks of surviving in the wilderness. Students are required to answer questions at the end of each chapter and discuss their answers with their peers. Here are some drawings of what the students thought Brian’s camp looked like.
