1-2LM & 1-2ME

In Science, 1-2LM and 1-2ME have been inquiring about sound and how we hear. We have discovered there are three parts of the ear and they all work together to hear sound and send messages to the brain. We are learning vibrations are things that move back and forth fast and they send waves of energy into our ears. Hearing is how we perceive sound, and it can change depending on how fast or slow an object vibrates to make sound waves. The stronger the vibration, the louder the sound we hear.  

1-2LM have enjoyed being creative with the inspiration of Pete Cromer. Students were able to use several materials to create their animals such as, paper, watercolour, oil pastels and material pieces. They look amazing! 

1-2H & 1-2W

In 1-2H and 1-2W we have been working on a HASS project. Each student has designed their own town and completed a map to show the features of their town. There were some requirements we had to meet when designing our towns, including:

• It must have some natural, managed, and constructed features;
• Our map must include a key;
• Our town needs to have a health service, an emergency service, a school, houses and businesses.

We have all enjoyed this task and are the proud ‘mayors’ of our new towns!
