Principal's Report

Mid-Term Assemblies
A fantastic range of learning was showcased today at our assembly. Thank you to those parents and school community members who attended. Our students love having the opportunity to reflect on their term and share their work with you. We are so fortunate to have such a connected and involved school community invested in our students learning.

Congratulations to those students who received a certificate for demonstrating our school values of Growth, Respect, Aspiration and Courage. Well done to these outstanding students, keep up the good work for the remainder of the year.

Student Free Day
Last Friday, teachers worked collaboratively to reflect on priorities and targets set in our School Improvement Plan. The Annual Review is a valuable opportunity for staff to analyse student data and determine goals for 2022. This process is focussed on improving student outcomes to ensure every learner reaches their full potential. We are in the midst of planning and preparing structures and classes for next year. This information will be included with your child’s summary report at the end of term.

Remembrance Day Service
Next Thursday, 11th  November students will pause and reflect on the service men and women who have died in the line of duty. The Student Representative Council will be holding a service at 11am in front of the memorial garden outside Minimbah. As always, you are welcome to attend.

End of Year Testing
Teachers are busy currently undertaking end of year assessments. We use this assessment data to identify starting points for learning, target teaching and monitor growth. This is valuable insight to inform end of year reporting and planning for 2022. We encourage all students to participate and aspire to do their best.

Swimming
Our swimming and water safety programs will be held this term.  Kinder, Prep and 1-2W students begin on 8th November, 2021.  1-2H, 1-2LM & 1-2ME students will swim for two weeks starting 22nd November, 2021. Our Grade 3-5 students begin their program on 15th November, 2021.  Given the environment that we live in, surrounded by creeks, rivers, dams and coastline, it is essential that our kids learn water safety and become strong swimmers to keep themselves safe if they were ever to find themselves in a dangerous situation in and around water.
