Kinder & Prep Celebrations
Kindergarten
Kindergarten students know that they can communicate their ideas and understandings through ‘reading’ their drawings with their voice. Some children are making books about things which interest them, and then reading their pictures aloud to make meaning. Sometimes shapes or symbols are added to represent text, and sometimes strings of letters are added, all of which are read aloud to make meaning.
When Kinder students make books they are sharing their ideas, as well as showing their growing understanding of writing, and reading.
