Principal's Report
Reports
Mid-Year Reports will be coming home on the last day of Term, Friday 2nd July 2021. Teachers have collected evidence of your child’s achievement across the curriculum, identifying achievements made and areas of focus. This report will reflect on some of the learning accessed, mastered and the work habits of your child. For the areas of English and Mathematics, teachers have also provided future focus statements, highlighting key aspects of your child’s learning that they are working towards. You will also find feedback regarding your child’s Effort, Attitude, Organisation and Behaviour. We recognise that these attributes are important in your child’s development and that the stronger they are, then it is more likely that they are being the best that they can be.
The report is designed to be a conversation starter. It is simply not possible to include everything about your child’s learning and development in a written report. In week two of Term 3, parent teacher meetings will be held. These meetings will allow reports to be discussed and what learning could be supported in partnership between home and school. Parent Teacher meeting will be booked through the Schoolzine App, allowing you to book in a time to see your child’s teacher/s. To book on the app you need to follow the link https://boatharbourps.schoolzineplus.com/view-session/6 and click on your child’s class and choose a time that suits. Parent teacher meetings can be booked from Tuesday 20th July until Friday 23rd July. If you cannot book through the app follow the link for a step by step guide Schoolzine or you can call through to the school office who will book for you.
Assembly
Today in our assemblies we celebrated the Junior and Senior Choirs for their very impressive performances from the Burnie Eisteddfod last week. Both Choirs represented Boat Harbour in an outstanding effort, showcasing their determination and ability to work together. Thank you Mrs Matic for helping provide this opportunity for our students and to Lydia Long for giving your time to help them be their best. It was wonderful to have the Choirs perform for us today, we couldn’t be more proud of you!
We also had the opportunity to celebrate the running achievements of Harry Gatenby who recently participated in the State Cross Country Championships at Symmonds Plains. Harry competed against approximately 250 other students and managed to place a very impressive 9th! Congratulations Harry on an outstanding effort.
A highlight of our assemblies is always the recognition of students achieving our school values from across the school. Congratulations to the students for being awarded class merit certificates and displaying the values of Respect, Courage, Aspiration and Growth:
Head Lice
Unfortunately head lice continues to be a pest across some classes. The school holiday period is an excellent time to stop the cycle of them being spread across the school. Please take the time to check your child’s hair and treat them if necessary. If we can all be vigilant with this then we are being as proactive as possible to stop them from spreading. Thank you in advance for helping with this.
Boat Harbour's Got Talent!
Many students participated in the Boat Harbour Primary School Talent Show this week, and what a magnificent showcase of the talent our students have! While witnessing the musical skills, gymnastics, dancing, magic tricks and comedy was certainly a highlight, what was most impressive was the confidence of students to show the courage to perform for us. It was a fun and exciting program, thank you to the audience for being so supportive and to the students that performed, well done!

Student Free Day
Monday 19th July is a Student Free Day. Staff will be at school working hard at improving their teaching, always striving to be better so that we can support all students to be the best they can be.
Holidays
School holidays are always a great time to hopefully spend some time with loved ones, rest and recharge the batteries. I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable break and look forward to seeing everyone at the start of Term 3!
