Principal's Report
Remembrance Day
Last Wednesday our students demonstrated their respect to those that have served, making sacrifices for us to live the way we do today, by participating in a Remembrance Day service here at school. I could not be more impressed by the respectful manner that every student displayed while taking a moment to reflect on the significance of this day. Grade 6 students, Jed Wilson, Teegan Hyland, Hailey Janssen, Tayla Jackson and Charlie Harris did a magnificent job conducting proceedings with the support of 3-4T. These hosts shared some of the traditions and history of Remembrance Day, highlighting the significance of everyone in our community, recognising and remembering sacrifices that have been made and continue to be made by service men and women. Well done everyone.
Swimming
We have been extremely fortunate to have some lovely weather for our Grade 1 to Grade 5 students to enjoy swimming and water safety programs that started this week. Our Grade 1-2 students are accessing the school pool, while our Grade 3, 4 and 5 students are travelling to the Burnie pool. Providing an opportunity for students to build their awareness and safety around water is critical for them to lead safe lives around different environments, now and into the future. The growth that is demonstrated during the two week swimming program is impressive and we look forward to seeing students enjoy themselves for the rest of the program.
Certificates
It was fantastic to see students from Kinder through to Grade 2 receive recognition for achieving our school and Department values in our morning meeting this week. Having students recognised for being respectful, aspirational, and for demonstrating growth and courage, highlights wonderful things happening across our school. Congratulations to all certificate recipients, and keep up the fantastic work!

Think Wise Waste
Our students were fortunate to have Owen from Think Wise Waste visit and share with all of our Prep to Grade 6 students, different ways to recycle every day. There was some very interesting information shared, including not crushing cans for recycling or not placing bottles or any other recyclable materials in bags to send to recycling. Please chat with your child about what they learnt and how they might like to be proactive.
