In 3-4E Science we have been learning about the Sun, Moon and Earth. As part of our unit we created a portrait of the moon and sun using cool and warm colours.

You can see some of our portraits in the window at Dixon's Pharmacy in Wynyard.

3-4KB

In reading, the students in 3-4KB have been developing their inferring skills. This means they are learning to "read between the lines". The students have put these skills into practice in an Open-Minded Portrait and a Thylacine diary. Through these they have been challenged to identify how their characters have felt or what they have thought at critical moments in the story.

3-4T

In 3-4T the students have been exploring the states of matter; solid, liquid and gas. We have sorted our items into what category they fit into based on what properties or characteristics they have. Some rich discussion came out about a few items that could fit into more than one category. On Friday, we explored freezing by making ice-cream without a freezer! Yum!
