Principal's Report
Welcome back!
It has been simply fantastic to see students back at school, enthusiastic to see their friends while at the same time being fresh and prepared for learning. The way students have settled back into routines and learning has allowed everyone to enjoy a smooth, connected and targeted beginning to Term 3.
Hygiene
Hygiene remains a focus across the school, ensuring students remain healthy and working towards keeping our school community safe. What was once considered extra steps in ensuring students are safe and our environment clean are now simply quality hygiene practices as a part of our normal routines.
Moderation
We are extremely fortunate to have staff at Boat Harbour Primary School that are committed to ongoing learning and best practice. Staff continue to work collaboratively to provide opportunities for student learning, updating their skills and knowledge to provide for the needs of every individual student across our school. Last Monday presented an opportunity for teachers to moderate student work, working together to refine assessment practices and discuss the levels achieved through the evidence provided through student work.
Reports
Mid-year reports will be sent home with students next Friday, 7th August. These reports will provide feedback regarding your child’s wellbeing and learning in Maths and English. You will receive feedback regarding their work habits and areas of future focus. As always, we encourage you to discuss your child’s learning with their teacher at any time during the school year.
Assemblies
On Friday, 21st August, we will be holding Kinder – Grade 2, and Grade 3 – 6 assemblies. The Kinder – Grade 2 assembly will be held at 9:50am and the Grade 3 – 6 assembly at 11:05 am.
Due to restrictions to the number of adults we can have in our school hall at one time, two separate assemblies are necessary. There will be a maximum of 60 adults in each assembly. Please RSVP to the school office if you would like to attend – numbers will be capped at 60, with parents required to book their seat if they wish to attend. We acknowledge that some families have students in both assemblies, however we ask that parents only attend one assembly unless numbers permit so that as many families can be present on the day as possible.
There will be assemblies following the same format in the last week of Term 3, Thursday 24th September.
All visitors to the school are required to complete a safety screening form before entering the school, including for assemblies. This assists us in tracing any potential COVID-19 infections.
