From the Principal

Collecting students at the end of the day
A reminder that all students being collected at the end of the school day will now be moved to the Japanese garden to be collected.  This area is at the Eastern side of our school, outside the 5/6 classrooms and next to the new Prep classrooms. Staff would appreciate that parents wait in this space in preparation to collect their children.  This allows us to ensure the safety of all students.  I will be on duty in this space to help ensure the safe collection of all students.

Respect
Each week as a whole school we share a key message that assists us all in achieving our school values of Respect, Growth, Aspiration and Courage.  We recognise that if our students can build these values that they have every opportunity to be the best that they can be.  This week’s focus is Respect and one way that we achieve this is by treating others how we would like to be treated.  This message is important to some students as they are learning about how their actions make others feel.  Please take a moment to talk with your children about how they feel when they are not treated fairly and how they can ensure they make others feel safe, welcome and happy.

5-6 Sport
Some of our Grade 5-6 students recently represented the Darwin region in Football, Netball and Soccer.  These students participated in selection processes and successfully made the team for their chosen sport:

Netball:    Bo Ellis, Georgia Weller, Teegan Hyland

Soccer:     Jack Nichols, Oszkar Sulyok, Keira Beswick, Tayla Jackson

Football: Jed Wilson, Riley Wells, Maddison Billing, Morgan Batchelor, Manaia Russell, Jada-Marie Russell

They competed against the Devon region, who proved to be strong opponents.  Congratulations to the students who were successful in representing our region and well done to everyone that challenged themselves to try your best at selections.

Welcome Kelli Lockett
Miss Gardner is challenging herself to further her learning and ambition to work in classrooms by working as an aide in our school for one day a week.  I would like to welcome Kelli Lockett who will be the friendly face helping in the Office while Miss Gardner is in a different space.  Mrs Lockett has broad experience working in this area and will happily help you with anything you need.  Please make yourself known to Kelli, we are fortunate to have her supporting students, parents and staff at Boat Harbour Primary School.
