Aboriginal Culture in Kinder
In Kinder we have been learning about Aboriginal culture and way of life through hands-on activities and Dreamtime stories. We were fortunate enough to have Camilla and her fellow educators from Circular Head Aboriginal Corporation visit our class to share information on Aboriginal culture and traditions. The class got to hold and learn about many different natural objects that the Aboriginal people used in their daily life. They learnt about the types of shelter they lived in, the different roles the men and women had, the foods they hunted and collected, and the importance of country. The students also has the opportunity to have ochre painted on their faces or hands, and taste test dried green ants and pig face. The students asked some wonderful qqestions and loved passing the objects around.
