Great Big Science Fair 2025
8 Students from our grade 5 and 6 classes have been travelling to Wynyard High School every Tuesday over Terms 2 and 3 for STEM. On Wednesday last week they were lucky enough to represent Boat Harbour Primary at the Great Big Science Fair in Burnie where they presented their STEM projects.
3 of our students went through to the second round of judging with their projects, and were presented awards at the 2025 BIG Science Fair Awards Ceremony on Tuesday evening at the Burnie Civic Centre.
Sophie was runner up in the Textiles section with her research on the differing strengths of crochet stitches. Doug and Darcy won the Grade 5/6 Plant Science award for their project testing the merits of different types of organic materials as compost.
Congratulations to all of the students on the amazing work they put into their projects.
