Science with Grade 1's from P/1BE & MC
During Science, Grade 1s in P-1MC and P-1BE have been creating Posters to show what they know about the importance of Bee’s. Here are some facts from the Grade 1 students:
Elsie: “We can plant lots of flowers for bees”
Hunter: “Bees need food, water and air to live”
Rylah: “Bees have a stinger”
Tessa: “Bees are important because they spread pollen around the plants”
Zack: “There are 20,000 different types of bees”
Adele: “Bees are important because they help fruit grow”
Quinn: “Bees make honey for us”
Evvy: “To save the bees we made a bee hotel. It’s a house that bees can survive in”
Sienna: “Bees do a waggle dance to communicate”
Mack: “Bees are little, yellow insects. They have wings and 6 legs”
Rykah: “Bees live in a little house called a hive”
Axel: “Bees are important because they make honey and they help plants to grow”
The Grade 1s and Preps then worked together to design and create a Bee/Bug Hotel to hang in the trees in the school carpark. Check them out next time you visit our school.
