Leadership in 6W
In 6W we are busy embracing all of the wonderful leadership opportunities that Grade 6 brings! Whether or not we are an elected SRC member or house captain, we know that we all have an important job as a leader of our school. We are learning what it means to be responsible and set a good example for others. It's not always easy, but it's definitely rewarding. We are discovering new skills, like public speaking, teamwork, and problem-solving, which will help us in the future.
Our SRC members have been busy attending meetings, organising events and fundraisers and creating rosters for different purposes. We take turns running the sports shed at recess and lunchtime and many students give up their playtime to work in the canteen, help in the library and just offer a helping hand where needed!
Last week our class visited Prep/1 BE and helped them create posters showing their knowledge about bees. We taught them skills such as using computers to find and print images, and how to do fancy writing to make cool headings. Not only do we love helping the younger students, but it helps us to reinforce our own skills and develop these by teaching others.
