Principals Report

Thank You and Merry Christmas!

What a year! I am the envy of every principal in the state. I get to come to school and work with kids that are eager to learn, are respectful, courageous, and happy. I work with a team of people that are determined to do everything that they can to help every student be their best. Thank you for a fantastic year, I absolutely love my job and cannot wait to get cracking next year. I wish every student and their families a happy and safe holiday period, I can’t wait to see everyone in 2025!

End of Year Assembly

I could not be prouder of our students. The impressive manner that every student presented themselves during our assembly was outstanding. Each student demonstrated teamwork and an eagerness to help each shine. I was inspired by the confidence that was showcased and the courage shown by many to step out of their comfort zone. We celebrated achievements and our grade 6 students. Our Grade 6’s are a wonderful group of students that we can look forward to successful, happy lives. They have been wonderful role models for all students and we wish them all the best for their next chapter, high school.

Grace Gaby

Many of our students are passionate about gymnastics, finding it fun and engaging. Grace Gaby is a Burnie local who has trained relentlessly in gymnastics for the last 22 years, determinedly remaining focussed to be the best she can be. During this time Grace has achieved many accolades, representing Tasmania an incredible 13 times. Grace is now going to represent Australia in gymnastics next January in America. Not only is Grace an amazing gymnast, but she is also a paramedic and wonderful role model. Grace visited our school recently and spent time with many of our students. Grace shared her journey and inspired students to never give up chasing their goals, being persistent and to love what you do. Our SRC donated $300 towards Grace’s trip, an opportunity she must fund fully herself.

Thank you Grace for being an inspiration! We can’t wait to cheer you on when you compete, you are already a superstar to us.
