Principals Report
Book Week
Book week is a wonderful time to celebrate reading and the world that books bring to us. Thank you to staff and students for making our assembly to celebrate Book Week so impressive. If all students can learn to read, and if they can enjoy and comprehend what they are reading, we know that we can open up so many opportunities for them in the future. Well done everyone!
Pre-Kinder
Our Pre-Kinder program will start in week 4, Term 4, and be held for 5 weeks. It will be held on Fridays, starting at 9:00am and finishing at 10:30am in the Kinder building. The first date is Friday, 8th November. Pre-Kinder is designed to help children be prepared for kinder, helping them become familiar with the Kinder environment, routines and expectations. If you are aware of any children turning 5 next year and that would like to attend Boat Harbour primary School, please encourage them to contact the School Office and collect an enrolment form.
Boat Harbour’s Got Talent
It was fantastic to see our students shine at Boat Harbour’s Got Talent this week. The courage shown by students to put themselves in the spotlight was inspiring. These students were not only talented, they were brave! They were leaders without even meaning to be. They inspired others by showing that it is more than OK to take a risk like this, that even though you might feel nervous or even a little scared, that trying new things helps us grow. We were all blown away by the level of confidence that students demonstrated. Our job as the adults in these student’s lives is to foster and encourage this. We want them to attack the future with courage and resilience, just like they demonstrated at the talent Show. Thank you to everyone that supported the event, $1300 was raised to help keep our playground clean and green. Thank you to Jimmy Dallas for cooking the BBQ and to Mrs Sharon Wilson for all her effort in the canteen. A fantastic event that highlighted the powerful connection that is embedded across our school community, thank you.
Father’s Day Breakfast
We hope to see as many Dads, Pops, Uncles, or anyone that is a father figure in a student’s life, come along to our Father’s Day Breakfast on Tuesday 3rd September, from 7:30am at our school. This is an opportunity to maybe drop into school on the way to work, stay for a bacon and egg muffin, visit classrooms, or have a kick of the footy. Our school choirs will be performing. We hope to see you there.
