From the Acting Principal

Today parents and carers will receive Mid-Year Reports detailing their child/ren’s progress and success so far this year. Teachers have worked hard to give a comprehensive overview of child/ren’s work and have included a Focus on Learning to highlight the programs and events for terms 1 and 2.

Kinder parents/carers will receive a copy of their child’s first Kinder Development Check (KDC).

Prep parents will receive a copy of their child’s first Performance Indicators in Primary Schools (PIPS) assessment in Literacy and Numeracy.

This year Grade 1-6 students have been assessed and rated in four learning areas of the Australian Curriculum – English, Mathematics, Science and Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS).

Grade 1-2 students will be given a descriptor comment.

Grade 3-4 students have received an A-E rating.

This rating system is now used by all states and territories of Australia. It is based on the work covered and progress made by your child in the first part of the year; it may change for the End of Year Report. Please see rating example below:

A         Jane is performing well above the standard expected for Year 4

B         Jane is performing above the standard expected for Year 4

C         Jane is performing at the standard expected for Year 4

D         Jane is approaching the standard expected for Year 4

E         Jane is performing below the standard expected for Year 4

Please enjoy reading the report, discuss it with your child/ren and celebrate their success. Parent-Teacher discussions will be offered early in Term 3 as an opportunity to discuss your child’s report in greater detail, their ongoing progress, as well as focus for future improvement.

This year, we will be using Schoolzine’s Session Keeper for parents/carers to book Parent-Teacher Meetings. These meetings will take place starting from Monday, 29th July – Thursday, 1st August. To make a booking please click the link below (or type the link into your web browser). If you are booking multiple sessions please select your time slots as soon as possible to ensure you are able to book consecutive sessions.

As this is a new process there may be some initial teething issues. If you have any concerns or questions regarding the process, please contact our office staff.
