From the Acting Principal
Each week, at BHPS we have a whole school meeting where we discuss important messages, celebrate successes and introduce a whole school weekly focus. This year, we are using the Department of Education’s core values of:
Aspiration – a culture of high expectation and high achievement
Courage – accepting challenges and embracing opportunities
Growth – improving by always learning and finding better ways to do things
Respect – respecting ourselves, others, our past and our environment
The value we have been focussing on this week is Respect. Students have had the opportunity to discuss this in more detail in the classrooms and discussions have been robust, enabling our students to deepen their understanding of these values. It has been rewarding to see students reflecting on their own behaviour and displaying a more positive attitude towards all members of the BHPS school community.
Next week, our Senior and Junior Choirs will be performing at the Burnie Eisteddfod. We would like to wish all students participating good luck. Thank you to Mrs Janet Matic, Miss Tash Turner and Mrs Lydia Long for working with and preparing our students for their performances.
Our end of term assembly will be held on Thursday, 4th July at 11.10am. We look forward to seeing our choirs perform and celebrating the achievements our students have made this term.
Our students show creativity in many ways. This week, it has been a pleasure to see these talents shown through students becoming ‘Lego Masters’ as part of Brixhibition. If you haven’t already come in to see this wonderful display, please do so before the end of school this Friday.
