Burnie Coastal Art Group – Youth TasArt
Explore the vibrant world of Youth TasArt as we celebrate the remarkable artistic journey of students from 3/4S at Boat Harbour Primary School. This term, our young talents have delved into the realm of sculptural art, transforming discarded brochures, pamphlets, and even pulp from the historic Burnie Paper mills into mesmerizing creations. Their innovative use of paper as a medium showcases not only their artistic skills but also their ability to convey meaningful ideas through their work.
This year, Youth TasArt witnessed a record participation from schools across the Burnie area, with Boat Harbour Primary School making its debut in the competition. Setting themselves apart, our students proudly submitted sculptural artworks, a distinctive choice that stood out among predominantly two-dimensional entries. The judging panel recognised and celebrated this unique approach, evaluating 3/4S artworks alongside high school sculptural entries.
In a moment of triumph, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ella Snare (Grade 4), whose exceptional mushroom sculpture earned her the well-deserved third place. This accomplishment not only highlights Ella's artistic prowess but also underscores the creative spirit thriving within Boat Harbour Primary School. As we reflect on this term's artistic journey, let us continue to nurture and celebrate the boundless creativity of our young artists.
