Term 4 has been busy so far. We have been learning lots of new things so far but one of our favourite topics has been learning about money. We have been using class cash as a reward system to help us practise counting money and develop our financial awareness. We earn some money each week and then pay rent for classroom items. We can earn rewards or bonuses by doing things such as helping, using manners and being a good friend and can get fined for things like being disrespectful, calling out or being silly. We have been playing games and sorting coins and notes to learn more about the features of Australian currency and to practise adding and subtracting amounts and we have solved some word problems about money.
