Principal's Report

PCYC

Our Grade 5/6 students recently took part in the Operation Resilience Program organised by PCYC (Police and Community Youth Clubs). These Grade 5/6 students hold senior roles and leadership positions within our school, and this program has significantly enhanced their ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Navigating the obstacle course presented them with various challenges that demanded effective communication and the willingness to compromise for the collective success of the team. Over the course of the program, we witnessed our students becoming progressively more strategic in their problem-solving skills, identifying their individual strengths, and recognising areas where they needed support from their team members. This experience proved to be immensely valuable for everyone involved. One particularly memorable aspect for me was observing students embracing the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, take risks, and realising what they are capable of when they have a go!

Darwin Football

Congratulations to the students who earned spots on the Darwin Football teams and then went on to represent the coast in Launceston. It's truly an outstanding accomplishment to secure a place on these teams, as they comprise some of the most talented players from our region, and the competition is exceptionally fierce. Well done!

Learning Conversations

This week teachers have had the opportunity to meet with families and share insights into student learning. These meetings offer a valuable platform for you to ask questions, express any concerns you might have, and engage in collaborative efforts to enhance your child's growth and development. We trust that these meetings have proven to be a worthwhile experience for those families who participated. However, please keep in mind that our lines of communication are always accessible, and we welcome you to reach out to us at any time.

Kids On The Cape

Early this year, Ellie Gatenby wrote to the Waratah-Wynyard Council to share her idea for a Fun Run inspired by the Gone Nuts Event. I am delighted to share with you that her vision has now been brought to life. This is a fantastic opportunity for children along the coast and I encourage our school community to support the inaugural event. Please check out the flyer and video below for more information. Congratulations, Ellie, on a job well done. We can’t wait to attend the event!
