From the Acting Principal

This term, our students have been very fortunate to participate in beyond the classroom learning opportunities. Some of these include Speech Buddies, Choir, Band, Musica Viva, Jon Madin, NWSSPA Cross Country and Girls Soccer Day. It is great to see our students develop creativity through further music opportunities and have students shine in a variety of sporting events. Well done to all those involved.

This week, artworks created by some of our students can be viewed at Dixon’s Pharmacy as part of the Art Window Display Competition. Thank you to Miss Turner and Mrs Tippett who coordinated this for our school this year, and to Dixon’s Pharmacy for giving us this opportunity to share our work. Please take the time to visit Dixon’s to see this wonderful display before the end of the week.

With only 4 weeks of the school term to go, the pressure is on students to continue their learning. Teachers are in the process of preparing Mid Year Reports, which will be sent home in the last week of term. Parent-Teacher discussions have been timetabled for early Term 3.

We have some staff changes for the remainder of Term 2. Mr Brown will be on leave until Term 3 and I will be continuing to fill in as Acting Principal until his return. Mrs Baker will be working full time as Acting AST and Mrs Evetts will be working with 1-2 Koalas Wednesday - Friday. This term, we also have Mr Jayden Carey and Miss Danika Spinks who are practising teachers from the University of Tasmania. Mr Carey is working with Mrs Donaghue in 1-2 Bilbies and Miss Spinks will be working with Mrs Wilkinson in 5-6 Possums.
