Parent Teacher Meetings and Mid-Year Reports
Parent Teacher meetings will be held next week during week 9. Please use this link https://boatharbourps.schoolzineplus.com/view-session/7 to book a time to meet with your child’s teacher. Your child’s mid-year report will also be given to you at these parent-teacher meetings. These meetings are an opportunity for you to discuss your child’s learning, progress and future focuses. Reports look different in 2022 after an extensive review process conducted by the Education Department. The new format is a result of this feedback and is explained in the School Reports FAQs that came home with students today.
Please take the time to book a parent-teacher meeting. If any of the times do not suit you please contact your child’s teacher to arrange an alternative time to meet and collect reports.
Assemblies
It is exciting to be having assemblies again in schools! We can’t wait to celebrate students, their learning and achievements with you at our assemblies in week 10, Thursday 7th July. The early childhood assembly will be held at 11:15am and the upper primary assembly will be held at 1:30pm. Both assemblies will be held in the school hall. We hope to see as many parents as possible attend.
State Cross Country
Congratulations Harry and Ellie Gatenby on representing Boat Harbour Primary school at the State Cross Country Championships in Symmonds Plains last week. It takes a great deal of courage to challenge yourself at this level, well done for trying your best and for making us all so proud!

Thank you from Hillcrest Primary School
Dear Boat Harbour Primary School Community,
The photographs below show our newly decorated 'Student First Aid/Wellbeing' room.
Thank you for your generous donation which has enabled us to buy some new furniture and apply a coat of paint to our first aid room.
It is now a welcoming place for our injured and unwell little people.
The Staff at Hillcrest Primary School
We have been learning all about Physical Sciences this term and have been creating convoluted contraptions to do simple things, these are called Rube Goldberg Machines.
All Grade 5-6 students recently travelled to Burnie and participated in four sessions at PCYC. While attending PCYC, students are required to complete an obstacle course in small groups. The course is designed to promote four qualities; Teamwork, Leadership, Co-operation and Communication. Students took turns in being group leader and planning the best way to complete each obstacle. During the last session, students competed in a time trial to get their whole team under the cargo net.

If your child is participating in the Eisteddfod and you would like them to receive a special merit certificate please send $1 in an envelope with your child’s name on it to the school office by the end of the term. Mrs Matic will organise these in the school holidays and you will receive your certificate early in term 3.
On Sunday, 12th June, the local Wynyard Gymnastics Cheerleading group ‘Wildcatz’, participated in the statewide competition ‘The Southern Spectacular’. A group of Boat Harbour students are members of the junior and senior cheer squad and they all came away with a first or second place. The confidence and team spirit shown is something everyone should be proud of. They are all looking forward to participating in the next state competition in November.
A special thank you to Alana Alderson for providing us with this photo!
