Our students shine!
It was fantastic to share our Art Exhibition with you all over the past 2 weeks and to see every student shine! I have been so impressed with the range and quality of student work, reflecting the priority of the Arts across Boat Harbour Primary School. The pride displayed by both students and staff has been incredible, highlighting student ability and providing a wonderful opportunity for creativity and expression. Presenting a snapshot of art in this manner reflects the proud history the arts have held at Boat Harbour Primary School, something that will continue to be driven well into the future. The Arts allow every student to achieve our school and Department values of Aspiration, Growth, Courage and Respect – all showcased during the Exhibition.
It was also wonderful to see our students shine on the Cross Country track last Thursday. There were many impressive efforts tackling the course this year, well done to all of the students that tried their best! While running is not for everyone, participation was also the key, and it was outstanding to see nearly every student from Kinder to Grade 6 start and finish the course. Well done and thank you Ms Evans for organising another engaging Cross Country event.
Hats
As the days get longer we know the bite of the sun begins to grow in intensity. As we head into Term 4 students are required to wear their school hat during break times. Sunscreen will also be available as required. Please ensure your child has their school hat at school ready for the start of the new term.
School Holidays
Thank you everyone for a fantastic school term! Term 3 has been filled with many highlights, with the school holidays a very welcome break for both staff and students. We are extremely fortunate to have the students attend our school that we do – staff relish the opportunity to support them in any way that they can. Enjoy a safe and restful break, I look forward to the start of Term 4 and embracing the sprint to the end of the school year!

Principal
Our Cross Country event was a great day and so heartening to see the children take on the challenge of long distance running. Thank you to the family members that could make it along to cheer and support the children - your effort is much appreciated.

On Wednesday, 15th September, the Senior Choir, in collaboration with Table Cape Primary, had the chance to perform for the students and staff of Wynyard High School. We travelled in the morning for a practise performance of our two songs, 'I Still Call Australia Home' and 'Believer', in front of an audience. The students were very nervous but were able to overcome their nerves and perform beautifully. On Thursday night, the variety show was on for the public. The Boaty-Cape choir performed very confidently to an appreciative crowd. This opportunity showed our students a little about high school life, and a little about writing, singing, dancing, and performing.
On Friday, 22nd October, Grades 3 & 4 students will be taking part in the Sports Expo in Wynyard. They will be going to one of the venues organised for the day, and will have a chance to participate in four different sports.
More information will be sent out early next term.
Due to the huge demand for food from our canteen and the lack of manpower to be able to continue to offer the breadth of options currently available, we have made some changes to the canteen menu from the start of next term.
We have streamlined the menu and will no longer be able to offer weekly specials, though there will be some specials days through the term. The menu will be updated and copies sent out to families at the start of Term 4.
You won't lose all your favourites, but there will be some new everyday options added.
K-2 Water Skills & Awareness Program 2021
The annual K-2 Water Skills and Awareness Program will be held over a four week period from Monday, 8th November to Friday, 3rd December 2021. The program will operate in the school's internal courtyard in our portable pool and will be co-ordinated by AUSTSWIM instructors through the Burnie Aquatic Centre.
There will be six sessions for Kinder students and ten for Prep - Grade 2 students over two x two week blocks. Although this program is not compulsory, it is hoped that all children will participate. The charge for the Kinder program will be $28 per student, and for the Prep - Grade 2 program, $46 per student. Swimming caps will be available for purchase for $2 each prior to the commencement of the program.
Further information regarding dates and groupings will be sent home early in Term 4.
