The Boat Harbour Primary School Athletics Carnival was a wonderful event for our school community to come together. The support shown for students from parents, grandparents and friends was outstanding. This support enables students to feel valued, connected and encourages them to be their best. Thank you for making the time to attend, the importance of this cannot be over emphasised.
At the carnival students showcased excellent sportsmanship, teamwork, persistence and participation. While running is not for everyone, we encourage students to try their best at everything they do. For those students that are strong runners, it was fantastic to see them shine. These students in Grade 3 – 6 made the BHPS Athletics team to compete in Penguin on March 13th.
The Boat Harbour Primary School Association held their Annual General Meeting last night. It was fantastic to have Kathryn Dixon, Pip Sadler, Maire Maccana, Pippa Mills, Narelle Edwards, Teresa Regan and Kristy Russell nominated and accepted to represent parents on the School Association. These members join Mandy McNamara, Kearah Baker, Georgette Moore and Merian Ellis as current sitting members. All of these people are your voice on the Association. Please always feel welcome to speak with any members to discuss Boat Harbour Primary School, supporting our school in continuing its excellent pathway forward.
Congratulations to Kathryn Dixon for being elected as Association President and to Pip Sadler as Vice-President. Narelle Edwards will continue as Association Treasurer and Mandy McNamara as Secretary.
The Association will continue to inform policy driven structures across the school and directly align these with the recent changes to the Education Act.
The Boat Harbour Primary School Parents & Friends (P&F) will return to working as a separate group, with the primary focus to support school events and fundraising to benefit all students. The P&F have some exciting things in the pipeline for 2019! If you are interested and can contribute in any way to the P&F I know that you will be made extremely welcome.

Our Athletic Carnival was a great day. The children certainly put in a big effort and it was very rewarding to see so many moments of fantastic sportsmanship. Thank you to the many parents, relatives and friends that could make it along to support the children, this certainly adds to the quality of the day.
A huge thank you to those people that helped us run the day, setting up, on the results desk and packing up at the end of the day, your efforts were greatly appreciated. The carnival ran very smoothly, thanks to the fantastic team effort from staff and the contribution from this year’s house leaders, from both Boat Harbour and Wynyard High School.
Well done to the placegetters. They were:

Police Visit
On Tuesday, 12th March Constable Fergus and Constable Neil visited Kinder Wombats and Wallabies.
Constable Fergus told us what he does when he goes to work and showed us all the items that they wear on their clothes. We got to ask them lots of questions and got a sticker when they left.
