2020 Classes
Thank you to parents for providing feedback about your child's class and their learning for 2020. Planning for 2020 is well underway with students and families to be informed about classes for next year when reports come home on 13th December. Providing for all requests is a challenge and the coordination of this process to maximise learning for all is complex. We are all working hard to finish the year off strongly, especially during this special time for our Grade 6 students as they prepare for high school.
Reports
End of year summary reports will be sent home with students on Friday, 13th December. This report provides a snapshot of your child's academic achievement during the school year. All reports Prep - Grade 6 will receive a rating against the Australian Curriculum for English, Mathematics, HASS and Science. Kinder students will receive their Portfolio of work and final KDC report.
End of Year Celebration
The Boat Harbour Primary School end of year celebration will be held in the school hall on Friday, 13th December. All students will need to wear their full school uniform. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate student achievement and reflect on the 2019 school year. Students are requested to be at school by 6.15pm, enabling us to start the celebration promptly at 6.30pm. Students enjoy having the opportunity to perform and be recognised in front of loved ones, making them feel valued, connected and that their learning is important. We would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to join us in celebrating our school year.

We are very proud of Isla Inkson-King who was awarded a highly commended award in the Fred Hollows Humanity Award 2019 at Parliament House last Friday. These awards are for Grade 6 students who demonstrate kindness, compassion and caring for others and the environment. Isla was nominated for her outstanding commitment to helping educate others on the impact of climate change on our local areas. Isla actively helps organise beach clean-ups and uses social media to help spread her message. Isla was presented her award by Gabbi Hollows and Minister Elise Archer and we are extremely proud to have such a wonderful leader amongst our school community!
Early Childhood Australia (ECA) held their national conference this year in Hobart. Over 1,000 people from all around Australia came to Hobart to attend the conference. The Tasmanian Department of Education wanted to give everyone a special memento of their visit to Tasmania, so they asked primary school children from all over Tasmania to suggest where the visitors should go and what they should see while they were in Tasmania. 1-2 Koalas completed drawings and made some suggestions for the visitors. Out of hundreds of drawings, Indy Leary’s picture and the message was chosen to be a part of a brochure called 'Messages from Tasmania’s Children'. Her drawing was also 1 of 4 chosen to be made into a special huon pine wooden tile. Every picture that was entered was also put into a power-point presentation and was shown throughout the entire conference. It was great to see that the work of our students was showcased to people all around Australia! Well done to Indy and her classmates.
