Welcome back to school everyone, Term 4 is going to be packed full of exciting opportunities for our students. As we race towards the end of the school year, I am thrilled at the learning that has been accessed in every class from the first minute of school on Monday. In the coming weeks students will be accessing a variety of excursions and extra curricula activities, positive ways to engage children in their learning.
Please don’t forget that you can always make contact with me or your child’s teacher to discuss their progress. I look forward to working with you all throughout Term 4.

On Tuesday 24th September, our school held its official opening of our 2019 Art Exhibition The Colour of Happy. It was a wonderful opportunity for our school community to celebrate the artistic achievements of our students. On this occasion we also made the dedication of the Performing Arts Room in honour of Cheryl Kingston our past principal. It was lovely to have Cheryl’s family and friends join us on this occasion to celebrate her work and commitment to our school in the last 14 years. Thank you to all who came and visited our exhibition during the last week of term and on the Saturday. Comments from Department of Education Representatives, parents and community members were very positive. All were appreciative of the efforts of both students and staff in presenting this fabulous exhibition.
Well done to all the children that participated in the cross country last term in Week 9. A great show of tenacity and resilience with their efforts. Thank you to all the parents and relatives that could make it along to support the children, your effort was appreciated by all. Congratulations to our placegetters:

Milking the Future Career Expo
On Thursday 24th October, students in Grade 4-5 and 5-6 will be travelling to Burnie to attend the Milking the Future Career Expo.
This career expo will allow students to engage with employers in the local region. It has a focus on the emerging opportunities in agriculture and dairy. The expo is designed to raise the students’ awareness about the jobs that are available in the agriculture and food industries. Students will get the opportunity to be hands on with activities across a vast range of jobs in their backyard.
5-6 Possums and 5-6 Numbats will be leaving BHPS at 9.40am and returning to school at 12.10pm. Students in these classes will need to bring their own recess and drink, but will still be able to order lunch from the school canteen if they wish.
4-5 Geckos and 5-6 Cockatoos will be leaving BHPS at 11.05am and returning to school at 1.40pm. Students in these classes will be able to order their recess from the school canteen, but will need to bring their own packed lunch and drink.
All students are to wear full school uniform.
