Parent Teacher Meetings
Thank you to all parents who attended parent-teacher meetings. We appreciate the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue and maintain transparent communication as we work collaboratively to support each child’s holistic wellbeing. Please continue to stay in touch. As always, we encourage you to maintain open lines of communication and to reach out to us with any matters related to your child. Together, we can achieve more and support the best outcomes for your child.
Burnie Eisteddfod
On Wednesday, the Year 3-4 and Year 5-6 choirs travelled to Burnie to participate in the Eisteddfod. Both groups did a fantastic job representing our school and achieved excellent results, with the Year 5-6 choir placing 3rd and the Year 3-4 choir placing 2nd.
Beyond the competition, students gained many valuable skills through their choir experience, including:
-Musicality and rhythm
-Discipline and focus
-Resilience and handling nerves
-Confidence and self-esteem
-Teamwork and cooperation
-Memory and learning skills
-Communication skills
-Listening skills
-Emotional expression and creativity
-Pride and achievement
Well done to all involved in showcasing not only their musical talents but also these wonderful personal skills! A big thank you to Clinton Hutton for all his hard work and dedication with the students.
Thank You Volunteers!
Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers. Boat Harbour Primary is a special place because of the strong sense of community and the willingness of so many people to step up and provide a wide range of experiences for our students. So many people contribute in a variety of ways, and your efforts are appreciated and make a real impact.
Happy Holidays!

In 3-4 RD, we have been learning more about Information Reports. An information Report is a type of writing that provides facts and information about a specific topic, aiming to educate the reader. It's a non-fiction text, meaning it's based on facts, not made-up stories. The goal is to inform, not to persuade, using clear and concise language. We all had the topic of animals, or plants. We hope you enjoy them and learn something new.

Twice a term in 3/4MD, students get to apply their maths skills to investigate and demonstrate their understanding of new maths topics. Sometimes, students get to be create – for example, this week grade 3s are creating patterns in shapes to demonstrate their understanding of multiples of 2, 3, 5 and 10s. Other times, students get to research. This week, grade 4s are investigating Indigenous Heritage Sites and planned a road trip to three of the sites. They practiced multiplication and rounding numbers to calculate the distance travelled. We look forward to completing our investigations!

Reading Groups and Science in 3/4G
We have been very busy this Term in 3-4 G.
Our Reading Groups have been working really hard on a number of new jobs. Each day, after we read part of our book, we need to complete a task before we share our thoughts in a group discussion. These tasks include reporting on your role as either Illustrator, Summariser, Connector or Discussion Director. These roles and discussions certainly help us gain a better understanding of the book and it’s characters by justifying our opinion.
In Science we have just started a new investigation on the Earth. Over the coming weeks we will research our place in the universe and how the Earth’s surface changes over time.

SRC - MND Ice Bucket Challenge
We would like to thank those who supported the Ice Bucket Challenge by donating or participating - or BOTH!
Thankyou to all the parents who allowed their children to make a gold coin donation for out of uniform, to Debbie and Leigh for the potato donations and Parko for the Ice!
We were able to raise $500+ for MND!!
A lot of fun was had by all!
Biggest congratulations to all our students who entered the 2025 School Brixhibition Competition. There were so many amazing builds to vote for it was a very difficult choice for our students to decide on one favourite. Students voted in Kinder-Prep, 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6 age groups and chose an overall favourite. Our SRC were in charge of counting votes. Thankyou to our SRC for giving up their lunch break to count all the votes !
We congratulate our age group winners and runners up's and also our overall school winner who will go on to represent our school at the Ulverstone Brixhibition. Well done Oliver E on your amazing Rock Climbing design!
